Fidelity FOMO can be a serious affliction.
Have you spent hours weighing the tradeoffs of high sample rates? Shooting out an EQ’s 15 filter types? Oversampling every plugin until your CPU cries uncle? Have you ever woken up in a cold sweat, terrified that your A/D converters are inferior to whatever else is out there?
The truth is that more resolution is not always better. And it’s almost never the thing that’s holding back your music. Trust your ears. And, most importantly, don’t let tech compulsions distract you from being creative. Nobody’s listening for the bit-rate of their favorite song.
